I’ll let you in on a little secret. A few weeks ago I brought a spinning wheel and have been trying to master it. Talk about patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time!! If you ever watch someone spin you will think it is soooo easy and very relaxing; which I’m sure it will be when I get some hand eye co-ordination happening. I have got various stages of the whole fleece to yarn process happening. I have some straight-off-the-sheep-fleece waiting to be washed, some washed and waiting to be carded, some dyed wool rovings waiting to be spun and some that I have spun and am now trying to ply with another commercial yarn and some gold metallic thread. If it’s not a total disaster I will post a picture soon (promise Rita). For anyone interested in some luscious handspun yarns make sure you visit www.needlefelting.com , check back often as Rita’s yarns sell out quickly but she is very good about updating her website! In the meantime I am knitting the Versailles shawl, freeforming the white bag and have the brown bag lining to sew in (anyone know where I can find a few more hours in the day????) Eye candy next time, I promise!
