Sari, Versailles, Happy Hooker

This bag I made for me. It is yarn from recycled sari silk. I was going to add some felted flowers but I think the sari silk has enough personality on its own.

I haven’t forgotten the mohair Versailles shawl. I am really not happy with the way it is knitting up in this yarn. So, at the moment it has been relegated to the bottom of my basket. I am going to rework it on larger needles and from 2 balls of yarn – see if we can get rid of those pesky stripes!

Just received my copy of the Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller of Stitch ‘n Bitch fame. Also purchased a huge S hook at the Gold Coast craft fair so am ready to crochet up a storm! (just have to learn how). For anyone thinking about getting Debbie’s latest book- do it. It is a thick book, nearly 300 pages, that starts with the basics of how to and then has some great patterns (over 2/3 of the book is devoted to patterns, so there are heaps). There would have to be something for everyone here.
