Busy, busy, busy

I can’t believe it’s been a week since I blogged. I have been doing stuff just nothing finished so no pics. I don’t like blogging without pictures, it can be very boring.

First, put your hand in front of your face……now stretch your fingers apart as far as they will go…..this gives you an idea of the size of this……

It was on my wall! (notice the use of past tense). I guess this is to be expected when you live near some bushland and there are gum trees overhanging the fence.

Anyway, I have been knitting, lots! I enrolled in the Touchbase Hand Knit course. It is a City & Guilds course and contains 11 modules. By the end I should be designing my own knitwear. But for now, I am making up lots of sample swatches. There is also a theory component & design basics in this first module. I’m loving it, just wish there were more hours in the day to do this all day as well as my other stuff (like work).

The Aussie Knitters group has started a new KAL, a sock. I am hoping to join in, but I really should finish this first….

This is the second sock, so I haven’t got much more to do.

I have sent a box of scarves off to Tony for the made4giving charity for December. I admit, they were scarves that I had already made; but I have got some patterns together for the groups January charity & plan to knit a couple of things for that over the Christmas break. I hope you have all joined the group, even if you can only contribute every other month, it all helps.

Another fabric sculpture is under construction. I will post a pic in a day or two when it is completed. I am liking this one better than the first. That is to be expected I suppose. The first one was made in a day at a workshop, when I didn’t really know what I wanted to do or how the material handles. With this one I have been able to take my time, doing a little each day over the last few days.

I have knit the back & front of Noro’s Klaralund and am onto the sleeves. A quick easy knit & the Noro Silk Garden is lovely to work with. No progress pics as it is pretty boring at this stage. There is no shaping, it’s all in the construction so I will have a picture when it is together.

I also cast on this last night:

I have since frogged back to the contrast stripe & changed the colour of the rectangle as I realised I wouldn’t have enough of this colour. I am using Jo Sharp DK wool from my stash as I have a bag of odd balls I got on ebay.

Yes but what is it?? You’ll have to wait…….
