I Got Mail (& a great secret pal)

The second parcel from my secret pal arrived today. I can sum it up in one word: WOW.

Everything in the box was something I would have chosen for myself.

The yarn is amazingly soft, and such a large skein (612 yards). It is Peruvian Alpaca in Stormy Skies colourway from A Touch of Twist. Did I say how soft it is.

Next out of the box were some goodies from the Yankee Candle company. (I am using the mint scented tart as I type).

Isn’t it gorgeous.

I am also using the next gift:

some Heal My Hands lotion. This is great stuff.

And something I have wanted for so long:

A Japanese knitting pattern book and a copy of Craft magazine that just happened to have a special issue on Japanese crafts. And who doesn’t lust after Lindt chocolates. I have explained to my secret pal that these will be tucked away for a week or two & then much appreciated and savoured when the time comes! (the chocolates not the mags – I’m into those now)

I can’t wait to find out who my secret pal is. (any hints??) It seems we are on the same wavelength as she was so spot on with this parcel. Thanks Secret Pal.

I also received another parcel (but forgot to photograph). It was my prize for winning a blog competition. The competition was here on the Yarn magazine blog. So I now have a set of double ended needles and the yarn to make some Clafoutis bedsocks. 5.5mm needles & 14 ply yarn – they should knit up quickly and be nice & toasty! Thanks Barb.
