The Best Way

What’s the best way to photograph socks? Obviously not on my feet!
I’ve finished the Clafoutis bedsocks just in time. We are in the midst of a cold snap here. Although I won’t be wearing them to bed but they are so warm & cosy for lounging around in. The yarn is 50% alpaca, 30% mohair & 20% superfine merino….mmmm very snuggly & warm.

Tech specs: knit as per the (free) pattern. Next time I would make the cuffs an inch or two longer as I had plenty of yarn left over & I like a longer sock than this pattern makes. Otherwise no complaints: the pattern is well written, easy to follow, the yarn is lovely to knit with & the finished socks are to be coveted.

Since I finished the socks I’ve cast on for my next winter warmer: fingerless mitts in the Malabrigo from my secret pal. I know I’m not prepared for winter & have left my knitting to the last minute but…it’s usually not this cold here unless I’m just feeling it more because I’m getting older 🙁 but I do hear lots of locals commenting/complaining on the sudden cold & also I’m heading south next month to visit my dad & it’ll be colder (& no doubt windier) there.
