A Week’s Worth

Blogging seems to have fallen by the wayside these past couple of weeks.

Thinking back I think it’s because I haven’t concentrated my efforts on any one project (so what’s new!) but have snatched moments of time to do a few stitches or a couple of rows here & there.
As such, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of progress on any one project & this also means that I haven’t taken any photos along the way.

So, I will try to remedy this…..somehow.
The magazine doodle collage is being stitched. First I stitched the outline of the cropped magazine collage…..

Now I’m stitching some doodles to fill in the spaces…..

I am planning on doing a satin stitched edge, maybe in a red or an orange (???)

The other joggles course has me thinking about a shrine mini art quilt. What would I like more of in my life? Overall, I am thankful for my life & what I have in it. I have a loving partner & 2 healthy, happy children. A lovely home, clothes to wear & food on the table. I have friends who would come running should I put the call out. What more could (or should) I want?

In the end I decided that I would like more time for me, more time to be creative…so my art quilt will be a shrine to creative time.

More time to be creative…if I’m ever to get on with this quilt! The fabrics in the photo are those I hope to incorporate into this quilt. The clockface has letters in place of numbers. Reading from the 12 position it says ‘time to create’.

The jumper for my son is progressing nicely. If it was up to me the main body colour would be the grey not the cream but it was his choice. I only hope I have enough yarn – I’m starting to think I should order some more, just in case.

I’ve also been working on the Noni bag that I received earlier this year as a prize in one of the bag exchanges. It is a great lattice pattern that is knit in the round.

After all the knitting is done it will be felted (fulled) in the washing machine. Can’t wait!

This morning I received a new knitting book in the mail. I have heard great things about this book, so I’m looking forward to sitting down after dinner tonight & having a good look through it…I’ll let you know what I think.
