PS I Knit

I’ve joined a new group on Ravelry called PS I Knit. The concept is great. In this world of email, twitter, blogging, updating your facebook page & communicating via forums on Ravelry a lot of us have forgotten the simple pleasure of writing and receiving a letter in the post.

I added some details to the group and 3 people have made contact with me. We’ve exchanged addresses & I hope to become long term penpals with at least one (if not all 3).
Sort of sticking to the writing theme I have been making some more journals to
list in my etsy store. I sold the last 2 (pictures below) during the week to a lovely lady, and thanks to her I will be adding some that will be suitable for men as well as for women.

In my knitting I have finished the gifts for the final birthday swap. This was the last one in our group & I really enjoyed putting a birthday gift together for everyone. For the last gift I made a cupcake card & some Owlings (mittens similar to Fetchings but with owls!)

A couple of nights ago I cast on Liesl in Cascade 220 in a rich deep red. This pattern has been very popular on ravelry & it looks good so far. I’m hoping it won’t take too long to knit & I’ll have some pics to share soon.
Also on the needles is the latest felted bag from She-Knits. It is a Mystery KAL so we just have the first clue released this week. It’s been a while since I’ve done a felted bag so I’m enjoying this knit & looking forward to the release of Clue 2 next week.
All these knitting projects are on my Ravelry page if you want to source the pattern or get more details. Remember, I’m yarnaboutyarn on Rav so add me to your friends if you haven’t done so already.
Daylight savings starts at 2 am tomorrow. I love daylight savings. It means the clocks will go forward and we will have more hours of daylight, yay!
This would have to be my favourite time of the year. The weather is warming up & extra daylight hours….what’s not to love.
Although today was real bushfire danger weather. It was so hot..34 degrees celcius, which is about 93 F…much too hot for the first half of Spring. I think we are in for a sweltering Summer.
We haven’t had rain for a while & the grass is so dry, it crunches when we walk on it. Also it was very windy, a hot dry wind…yuk! Any small fires today would have soon developed into a dangerous situation.
Tomorrow the weather forecast is for a cooler day and even the possibility of some rain (fingers crossed).
