I fizzled, not the group. I was hoping I could keep up with the Project Yarnway challenges. My March attempt ended up in the frog pond. The t-shirts I chose shed unbelieveably. I couldn’t stand it. My design was nothing special so I also wasn’t getting that WOW factor. Combine that with having to get the vacuum/broom out everytime I worked on it & it had to go.
No worries, I thought, I’ll join back in on the fun with the April challenge.
Um…no I didn’t. The challenge for April was to design and knit/crochet a bag. I’ve done a lot of bags over the last few years so maybe that’s why I couldn’t get excited about this challenge either.
I just hope I can get it together for May.
But I did finish something-
The Loose Textured Sweater from Jo Sharp Knit Issue 7. It’s one that’s been in my queue for a while (after all Knit Issue 8 is now available). So when Yay! for Yarn had discounted kits for sale I grabbed one.
It’s not the best written pattern, some parts are a bit vague etc but it’s a quick knit on big needles with yarn and stitch changes to keep it interesting. There was a bit of shedding along the way and an itchy nose but I persevered (even with a discount the yarn is not exactly cheap).
The result is just what I wanted: a comfy, oversize sweater for a rainy Sunday (too bad it was 30 degrees Celsius here today – middle of Autumn!)
