DUAL – a cowl made in 2 parts that can be worn together or separately.
Size: 28cm (11 inches) wide X 16cm (6.3 inches) high (after blocking & measured flat/folded)
Approximate circumference 57 cm measured relaxed

Yarn: I used Biggan Design First Cross Merino DK, used double throughout. A thicker yarn may be used single stranded if desired

Inner cowl used 3 balls of Biggan (345 yards/315 metres).

Outer cowl used 2 balls of Biggan (230 yards/210 metres).

Needle: 6mm (US 10) circular needle 60cm (24”) long

A thinner needle (such as a cable needle) or a smaller size crochet hook is useful for completing the K5 together step in making the bobbles.

Gauge: 16 sts x 24 rows over 10cm (4”) in stocking stitch knit in the round with yarn held double using 6mm needle, measured after blocking.

**Yarn is held double throughout**

To make bobble: K1, P1, K1, P1, K1 into next stitch making 5 stitches, turn, P5, turn, K5, turn, P5, turn, K5 together. It is easier to use a smaller needle or crochet hook for the K5 together and then transfer the resulting stitch back to the working needle.
