L is for …Lace

This week I have been swatching lace for my course.

Lots of lace & lots more to come.

I really enjoy knitting lace as it can look way more complicated than what is really is.

Basically it is just decreasing & increasing stitches in order to get the eyelet holes and the changes in stitch direction.

Lots of swatch knitting also means lots of pinning out & blocking, lots of ends to weave in.

This week I’ll be getting these samples mounted & labelled, and swatching some more.

One thing I’ve learnt is to keep good, clear notes. Notes that I can still understand if a couple of weeks passes between swatching & labelling the mounted swatch.
