Lifelong Learning

This last week has seen me take time off from my regular paying job to take part in a couple of workshops/conferences.

One was close to home, I could ‘almost’ have walked there. It was the best part of a day in a room with curtains drawn & lights dimmed (so we could view the PowerPoint presentation). Combine the setting with the topic (accounting) and you probably get the picture.

The second event was totally different. I got to leave home (alone) for 3 days.

I listened to some very inspiring speakers from Australia and overseas.

All in a very stylish venue.

With yummy food.

But I don’t regret going to the first workshop.

I have a confession to make – ready –  I “like” learning new things!

Whether it’s in a darkened room, in a luxury hotel or even sitting at my computer. I’m a lifelong learner.

But I don’t think I’m alone in this, I think we all like to learn new things, whether we attend conferences & workshops, do an online course, read blogs and e-books, watch a just released film or flick through a magazine checking out the glossy ads. These are all ways we learn & enrich our lives.

Today I’m back home & getting some organisation into my schedule for the weeks ahead (including regular blog posts). This got me thinking about you, my readers and what you’d like to discover on the blog. Are you here to learn something? or hoping I’ll actually post a pic of a finished item? or release a new pattern? or ………? Is there something you’ve been struggling with in your own knitting/crochet that you’d like help with? Tell me what you want to see here, what you need help with, what’s important to you when you take the time to read my blog.

Please leave a comment and let me know.

(one of you will receive a prize for your efforts, I’ll use a random number generator to pick a name from the commenters on this post – make sure there is some way to contact you, don’t just show up as anonymous if you want to win.
