Sakuna Progress

Test knitting for Sakuna is underway and going well. I’ve still got spots left for plus size testers if anyone is interested. The tech editor is lined up for later in the month & the photographer has taken some fabulous shots. One thing I loved with the photo shoot was that the model used was a lot smaller than me so the shrugs are shown with a fair bit of positive ease. I really like this look as well as the more ‘snug shrug’.
The pattern is written so the knitter can decide how much ease they want where. Maybe you’d like it to fit across the back snugly but have looser fitting sleeves … I think my ‘goth’ version will be like this.

Test Knitting

Anyone interested in a test knit? I’m currently calling for test knitters on Ravelry for Sakuna. Sakuna is a pretty shrug knit in worsted weight with lace weight (or fingering weight cuffs). It’s very feminine but I could also imagine it looking very goth if anyone would like to knit it in black (or black with red trim?) … might have to do this myself if I don’t get any takers.

And to see what it looked like in a variegated yarn (slightly bigger size). I love how the movement of the stitches show up in this yarn.
What I love about this pattern is that it can be knit in a lot of different sizes. The sizing is based on a combination of measurements, so there are something like 25 different size combinations possible ….. hopefully something to fit just about everybody.
